e3Scientific Helicopter Training Course

In early May, e3Scientific’s terrestrial ecology team undertook STEP helicopter training with the Department of Conservation. The training was focused on entering and exiting operating helicopters safely, when landing sites are restricted. This training now increases the scope of work that can be undertaken by our team.
The training has given staff the experience and knowledge to operate in remote backcountry areas that are otherwise not easily accessible due to terrain. The team spent half a day in the Devils Creek Conservation Area honing these skills to become proficient in these operations.
The provided training can now be utilised for upcoming work to monitor wilding pine control efforts on behalf of DOC (Department of Conservation) and the WCG (Wakatipu Wilding Conifers Control Group).
